Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) competed in the 2025 International Leadership Conference (ILC) in Nashville, Tennessee, an international health science competition that included hundreds of competitors from all over the country/world and over 20 events. Four students placed second in biomedical debate; six received second place in parliamentary procedure, one \ in the following: First place in Healthy Living, fourth place in Medical Spelling, and Top 10 in Job Seeking Skills. Many students won awards in the NJ State Leadership conference in March and placed high in the respective competitions.

A group of seven students participated in the Sir Isaac Newton Exam '25 conducted online by the University of Waterloo, CA. They were among 3808 participants worldwide working for two hours on challenging Physics problems. One student placed the 11th in the world, and the average grade of our team is twice the worldwide average

In the finalist round of the International Research Olympiad, 21 finalists competed. A freshmen student won third place!

15th Annual Bergen SciChallenge Middle School Science Fair brought 140 young middle schoolers together to compete and engage in STEM. The SciChallenge had over 65 judges from academia and industry, as well as upperclassmen from our BCA Research program acting as judges. More than 50 BCA student facilitators orchestrated the entire event including various STEM activities, a Liberty Science Center Presentation, as well as an open gym for parents/guardians to view the research projects. The top 10% of projects judged became eligible to apply to the national level of the 2025 Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge, structured like Regeneron STS.
- Montclair State University High School Theatre Night Awards - The “Foxys”... The Winter Musical 2024 - Something Rotten won several awards including Outstanding Achievement in Period/Fantasy Costume Design, Outstanding Achievement in Lighting Design, Outstanding Achievement by a Dance Ensemble, Outstanding Achievement in Choreography, Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Broadway Musical from 2006-2021, Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Musical from 2006-2021; Outstanding Acting Ensemble in a Musical from 2006-2021, Outstanding Production of a Broadway Musical from 2006-2021, Outstanding Achievement in Direction of a Musical:, Overall Outstanding Performance by a Competitive Actor in a Musical; Overall Outstanding Performance by a Pre-Professional Actor in a Musical Overall Outstanding Production of a Pre-Professional Production. The Fall Play “Pericles” won many awards from the Montclair State University High School Theatre Night Awards - The “Foxys” including Outstanding Achievement in Period/Fantasy Costume Design; Outstanding Achievement by an Actor in an Elevated Language Play: and Outstanding Production of an Elevated Language Play.

The Chamber Choir was invited to Carnegie Hall by MidAmerica Productions to perform John Rutter's Magnificat and Ludwig van Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. MidAmerica's production team, along with the Continuo Arts Foundation's artistic director Dr. Candace Wicke, invited the choir to Carnegie Hall, to join in a concert honoring Dr. Tiboris' legacy.The students provided the choral forces for the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra's performance of W.A. Mozart's Vesperae solennes de Dominica, K. 321.

Two students were recognized by the National Council for Teachers of English for their writing efforts and received achievement awards in the writing contest.

For the second year in a row, one of our students won the New Jersey State Honor for the World of 8 Billion Student Video Contest. Student Class of 2028, won for his video entitled "Bioremediation for Stopping Water Contamination." Sponsored by Population Education, a program of the nonprofit Population Connection, the contest invites young people to explore the challenges of population growth and propose sustainable solutions.

Cooper Hewitt National High School Design Competition returned this year and one of our sophomore Visual Arts Academy students, was selected as an Honorable Mention recipient in this year's contest

Thirteen made Honor Roll in the International Research Olympiad. Semifinalists have taken a second exam and the top 15 students will be able to attend the finalist competition at Harvard Square in June.

BCA Model UN recently competed at the Washington Area Model UN and won Outstanding Large Delegation

Student Council won National Association of Student Councils (NASC) award. This prestigious award recognizes the quality, leadership, innovation, and community engagement that our student council consistently demonstrates through its operation, projects, and activities.

NJ Science Olympiad Final ’25 season was the most successful for our students in over 20 years: they received a trophy for 6th place as a team for the first time. Students got individual medals in ten (10) events, the greatest number ever as well

Results of the FBLA 2025 Statement Competition held in Atlantic City, NJ: Of the 20 students who competed, 7 placed in the top 10. Four moved to 2025 FBLA National Competition in Anaheim, California. Students placed in top 8 regionally in their respective events and moved to FBLA State Competition. Awards include first place in Marketing, third in Hospitality and Event Management.
- Of the 97 students who competed at the NJ DECA State competition, there were 43 winners across 21 competitive events qualified to compete at the DECA National competition 2025 in Orlando, FL. DECA District Competition: 76 students qualified for the annual NJ DECA State Conference. BCA had 10 students in 1st place, 18 students in 2nd place, and 6 students in 3rd place.

BCA students have done well at two international Olympiads this summer. At the International Math Olympiad in Bath, England, one student earned silver medal representing Canada. At the International Linguistics Olympiad in Brasilia, Brazil, student won a silver medal representing Anglophone Canada. Student earned a gold medal and was second place individual representing USA Blue.

One of the C-SPAN documentaries from last year. "Footprint by Fabric", won second place in the Multimedia category of the Harvard Political Review Journalism Competition. The piece has been accepted in the 1:11 High School Film Festival, part of the larger Raleigh Film and Art Festival in North Carolina.

Three students got selected for the 2025 Governor’s STEM Scholars class and joined other high school and college students and have opportunities to interact with STEM professionals and network with both professionals and program alumni

Competitive Programming Team earned a Bronze Medal at UC Berkeley's Calico Coding Competition. The team demonstrated exceptional skill by tackling some of the most challenging problems in the competition, delivering eloquent and optimized solutions.

WMTC competition in Doha had top five individual scorers, and the second and third placed teams. All nineteen students received either gold medals or silver medals. Jazz Band continues its tradition lighting the BC Christmas Tree@ Winter Wonderland. Northern NJ Regional Orchestra accepted eleven string players who qualified for All-State Orchestra.

BCA Model UN competed at Yale Model UN. Two talented groups of BCA seniors, juniors, and sophomores were selected as semifinalists in 2024-2025 Wharton Global High School Investment Competition. They were among the top 50 teams out of the more than 1,800 student submissions from 66 countries around the world that move on to compete in the final rounds.

AVPA-V sophomore accepted into the 2025 National Art Honor Society Juried Exhibition. NAEA received a record number of 2,414 submissions for the 2025 NAHS Juried Exhibition; 83 artworks have been selected for inclusion by a panel of experienced artists and arts educators.
